Dry Lining Process

Step 01

Drawing & Project Review

We review drawings, floor plans, partition layouts and board specifications to fully understand the scope — coordination requirements, service routes and junctions included.

  • Floor plans and partition layouts reviewed
  • Specification and board types confirmed
  • Coordination with other trades identified
Step 02

Material & Board Type Selection

We confirm the correct board types for each area — standard, moisture-resistant, fire-rated or acoustic — and agree the fixing method, thickness and delivery schedule.

  • Standard, MR, FR or acoustic boards specified
  • Fixing method agreed — dot and dab or frame
  • Delivery schedule aligned with programme
Step 03

Setting Out

Walls and partitions are set out accurately from drawings, allowing for the correct tolerance and ensuring future finishing trades have a square, level base to work from.

  • Walls and partitions marked from drawings
  • Level and plumb checked throughout
  • Service routes and access openings confirmed
Step 04

Board Installation

Boards are cut, fixed and installed to the required specification. Junction details, access boxes, reveals and service penetrations are all addressed during installation.

  • Boards cut and fixed to specification
  • Junction details and access boxes addressed
  • Reveals and returns finished cleanly
Step 05

Jointing or Skim Finish

Joints are taped, filled and feathered to a smooth finish, or a full two-coat skim is applied to the board surface — depending on what the specification requires.

  • All joints taped, filled and feathered
  • Skim finish applied where specified
  • Surface checked for level and consistency
Step 06

Quality Check

We check board level, flatness, joint finish and surface quality before signing off — any remedial work is completed before the area is handed over.

  • Board level and flatness checked throughout
  • Joint finish and surface quality inspected
  • Remedial work completed before sign-off
Step 07

Handover

The completed area is cleaned, cleared and handed over to the next trade or end client in a ready condition — with documentation if required.

  • Area cleaned and cleared on completion
  • Next trade notified when ready to receive
  • Handover documentation provided if required
